Backbone, African Blackwood Burl, 6.25 x 2 x 1, 2013. Originally
purchased by Deena Kaplan then donated by her estate to the AAW Gallery,
Backbone was not a turned object. Because of that the AAW Gallery worked
out a trade with the Museum for Art in Wood in 2023 and now it is in its
permanent collection. It was included in the exhibition, Spoons to
Stir the Soul: The Life of Norm Sartorius, at the Museum in 2022.
