| Pao Ferro Ladle - Bolivia - 1977. Graceful lines and a deep bowl this ladle is made from an
exquisite piece of Pao Ferro. In 1977, it was included in an exhibition
of West Virginia Craft by Department of Culture and History at the Union
Carbide Gallery in New York City. For 40 years the piece was owned by an
original collector. I purchased the piece in 2021 for my retrospective
exhibition at the Center for Art in Wood in Philadelphia, PA. Mark Nantz
made a custom powder-coated steel stand to enhance the presentation of
the ladle. The Pao Ferro Ladle is one of the best examples of my
earliest work. The piece has been sold to a prominent collector.
