Pat’s Gold Watch – Cherry Burl w/ Graft Line - 7 x 3.25 x 1 – I was commissioned to make a spoon gift for the outgoing President of the Collector’s of Wood Art, Pat McCauley – a couple years ago she had given me some domestic Cherry from her neighbor’s dead tree. I had told her that the wood was ruined by insect damage. That was true but there had been a small amount of usable wood from which I carved this spoon. I was pleased that the graft line (wild cherry root and domestic cherry top) showed so well in the spoon bowl. - SOLD. Photography by Jim Osborn.
