"Pete's Honor" - Black Locust - 11.25 x 3.75 x 3.25 -
2025 - This spoon was carved from Pete Seeger's black locust firewood -
over 20 years ago I was commissioned to make a spoon as an award to Pete
Seeger at a MD folk festival called Common Ground - I asked Pete about
his relationship to wood which got him talking about his banjo and
eventually about burning wood for heat. He said he enjoyed splitting and
burning black locust firewood. I arranged for some to be sent to me and
this spoon was carved from the wood he sent. SOLD
