“Concrete Oak” - District of Columbia – 5 x 1.5 x 1 - a customer gave me
an piece of oak root from a Washington DC sidewalk. We have all seen
roots growing across a sidewalk. What he gave me included an entrapped
chunk of concrete which my band saw quickly found - the oak root wood is
nice and closed grained compared to a normal oak board - used a newly
purchased checkering file for the lines on the handle - $425 -
GIFT. Photography by Jim Osborn.
