Apex – Australian Snakewood – 15 x 6 x 4.25 - Apex signifies one’s “most successful point”, the top of one’s career. The large scoop was built around a texture and grain pattern I had never seen before in 30 years of woodworking. The web-like heartwood and sapwood pattern on the backside of the scoop bowl is astonishing and strong. I tried to carve the handle to compliment this great strength.
