Beneath the Surface - Algerita Burl (AZ) - 12 x 6 x 4 - the carved bowl
contains some of the best Algerita burl grain I have ever seen and the
surface of much of the weathered wood handle is rich with interesting
texture – this spoon exhibits very well two ways and is surprisingly
comfortable to hold. This one clearly states that nature is beautiful!
The texture and form provided to me were beyond what I might achieve on
my own. In this case the goal is to “see” what is offered and try to
stand in it's way as little as possible - $3600 - SOLD. Photography by Jim Osborn. This spoon
was part of a juried Collectors of Wood Art exhibition at
SOFA Chicago 2012 called
"What is Beautiful". |
