Norm Sartorius - Big Sur

Big Sur Driftwood - 10 x 4.5 x 2.5 – Interesting long term commission from established collector – husband and wife collected the raw piece of wood on the beach at Big Sur on their honeymoon – many years later gave it to me to do something with – I held it longer than necessary waiting to have a good idea. The upturned area became the lip of the bowl – they thought the wood might be redwood but it had the aroma and color of a cedar or hemlock not redwood. SOLD. Photography by Jim Osborn
