“Snow” - Japanese Maple (MD) - 2011 – 7 x 2.25 x 1.5 – Two winters ago the snow crushed a beloved Japanese maple in the yard of a prominent wood collector. He brought me the part of the trunk that included the graft line. After allowing time for drying I carved this tribute to their lost tree. I was pleased with the concentric circles on each lobe of the handle’s sections. $1500 - SOLD. Photography by Jim Osborn.
